Group regenerates Lancing housing site

An obsolete housing site in Lancing has been given a new lease of life through Southern Housing Group’s latest development.

Construction on the former Rotary House site on Beachcroft Place was recently completed with a mix of 25 one and two bedroom units for social rent.

The flats, spread over three storeys, benefit from a range of high quality design specifications including balconies for the higher levels and private gardens on the ground floor.

Prior to the Group’s purchase, the site contained a former sheltered housing block which had been constructed during the 1970s. It consisted of 19 bedsits and one bedroom flats, including a warden’s quarters.

Built by Sunninghill Construction Company Ltd, the new properties have been designed to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 and Lifetime Homes Standard with lift access to all flats. Each of the units also has the benefit of an allocated parking space.

Southern Housing Group South Regional Development Manager, Jeremy Barkway, said the development provided much needed affordable housing for Lancing.

“The Group has carried out a successful redevelopment of the former Rotary House site, utilising the land to provide new affordable housing which incorporates contemporary design standards. The development will contribute to the regeneration of Lancing, providing sustainable homes for current and future residents.”
