What we are doing
Our vision
Southern Housing Group aims to build and maintain sustainable neighbourhoods and communities. By integrating principles of social, economic and environmental sustainability throughout our activities, we can contribute to achieving sustainable development where needs can be met, the best possible living conditions achieved, and both current and future generations can live a healthy, happy and productive life.
In 2007 we set up a sustainability working group which produced a detailed Environmental Sustainability Action Plan for 2008 – 2011. The implementation of this plan over the next three years will cover all areas of our influence, including:
- our staff and residents
- our offices and travel practices
- our existing and older stock
- our landscapes and neighbourhoods
- our new projects and new build homes

We all have a duty to ensure a cleaner, greener future, and there are many challenges ahead of us. But we believe that together we can overcome these problems, with energy, commitment and creativity. We are working with our residents, staff and partners to make a difference.
